Tropical Packaging Redesign for U.S. Market Expansion
Vinaka, a coconut vodka seltzer brand from Fiji, approached us to redesign their packaging as they prepared to import into the U.S. market. The existing labels and box packaging lacked the vibrant, immersive feel needed to make an impact on the shelves. Our goal was to capture the essence of a tropical escape, making the packaging feel like a “vacation in a can.” By bringing in the vibrant culture and beauty of Fiji, we aimed to create an inviting, beachside experience with every purchase.
We developed a colorful, illustrative style with a central coconut cup, symbolizing the product's coconut vodka base and offering a first-person perspective, inviting consumers to imagine themselves reaching for the drink on a Fijian beach. To further enhance the authenticity, we designed custom graphic elements inspired by Fijian tribal symbols, which served as colorful borders for the cans and provided a versatile visual system for additional brand assets.
Beyond just packaging, we extended the branding to include custom pattern designs, which we applied to coasters and other treatments, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience across all Vinaka’s touchpoints.
